Windows on CrestVPS is a licensed image, not a bring-your-own-licence exercise. Pick Windows Server 2019, 2022, 2025 or Windows 11 Pro at deploy time. The licence costs EUR 14-19 a month on top of the plan and appears on the same invoice. Median provisioning is 47 seconds; the machine comes up with RDP enabled and a web console behind it. Signup is an email address, payment is cryptocurrency through OxaPay, and no identity documents are involved at any point. Windows wants more memory and more disk than Linux, so the floors are higher: 4 GB and 60 GB for Server, 8 GB and 80 GB for Windows 11. Choose the family to match the workload.
Which edition suits which job
Server 2022 is the default. It carries the current hardening baseline, supports TLS 1.3 and Secure Boot, and every vendor still ships installers for it. Server 2025 is the choice for new builds that want hotpatching, SMB over QUIC and the newer directory schema. Server 2019 exists for software whose certification matrix stops there: older ERP agents, some broker APIs, legacy .NET Framework services. Windows 11 Pro is the desktop option, for browser automation, GUI applications that refuse to run on a server SKU, and anything expecting a client operating system. All four deploy in any of the 36 cities.
Sizing Windows properly
Windows Server needs 4 GB of RAM and 60 GB of disk before you install anything. Windows 11 needs 8 GB and 80 GB. Those are floors, not targets. Treat 8 GB as the working minimum for Server with a role or two, and 16 GB once SQL Server, IIS and a monitoring agent share the box. Disk fills faster than operators expect: the component store, update rollbacks, page file and crash dumps together account for tens of gigabytes. Size for twice the installed footprint. Windows 11 driving a browser fleet wants 16 GB. Plans resize upward without a rebuild.
RDP, the web console, vTPM and Secure Boot
RDP is enabled on first boot. Change the port, restrict the source range, or put it behind a VPN. The web console is the fallback: an out-of-band view of the real framebuffer, so a firewall rule that locked you out, a failed update or a driver that killed networking stays recoverable. Windows 11 requires vTPM 2.0 and Secure Boot. Both are attached to the instance, so BitLocker, Windows Hello for Business and Credential Guard behave as they do on physical hardware, and feature updates install without the compatibility block. All 15 Tbps of DDoS scrubbing sits inline in front of it.
NITRO for RDP and trading, FORGE for SQL Server
NITRO runs Ryzen 9 9950X cores pinned to the instance. Single-thread clock is what an RDP session feels and what an order path depends on, so NITRO suits interactive desktops, charting terminals and trading platforms with a GUI thread. FORGE is the Xeon family at up to 16 GB per core: SQL Server, analysis services, buffer pools sized in the hundreds of gigabytes. TORQUE covers dense build agents on EPYC Bergamo. The licence is a separate EUR 14-19 line, with no SPLA paperwork and no key to source, and it settles in crypto on the same invoice as the plan.

No. The image is licensed by us and costs EUR 14-19 a month depending on the edition, billed alongside the plan on the same invoice. There is no bring-your-own-licence path, no volume agreement to sign and no product key to source. Deploy the image and activation is already done. Destroy the instance and the licence charge stops with it.
